Which wall paint suits this exact room? The Colour Finder answers that by looking at your room, not at a colour fan. You upload a photo from your phone, we take a look at the light, floor and furnishings, and suggest four shades for you. It takes about 40 seconds and costs nothing.
How the Colour Finder reads your room
The process has three steps, and you take the first one with your phone in hand.
- ✓ Your photo: A quick snapshot is enough. All that matters is that wall, floor and a piece of furnishing are visible in it.
- ✓ The analysis: We read the direction of light, the brightness and the colours of floor, furniture and textiles — and estimate how large the wall surfaces really are.
- ✓ Your result: Four shades, each with a sentence explaining why it works in this room. On request, we'll send you the full evaluation by e-mail.
Why a shade looks different on your wall than in the catalogue
A shade doesn't have a fixed effect — it has an effect in your room. North-facing windows make every tone a touch cooler and greyer, while south-facing windows make the same tone warmer and brighter. In the evening, under lamplight, it shifts once again.
Then there's what's already there: warm oak parquet pulls cool greys towards green, a grey concrete floor makes beige look dull. That's exactly why we don't suggest the four most popular tones, but instead take a look at your photo. If you'd like to browse freely afterwards, you'll find the whole palette under Wall Paints.
From suggestion to painted wall
The suggestion is the beginning, not the end. On every colour page, you can upload the same photo again and see your wall in that shade — not as a colour swatch next to the text, but with your light and your furniture. You'll only be truly sure, though, once you have a sample on the wall: the Colour Sample Box 65 pcs contains all 65 shades for testing in your own light.
Once you've settled on the tone, it's a question of quantity. The article How Much Wall Paint Do I Need? works it out with you. And if you'd like roller, brush and masking to come along too, the Renovation Boxes are the quicker route: there, the quantity is calculated for your surface, not estimated.
Frequently asked questions about the Colour Finder
What does the Colour Finder cost?
Nothing, the evaluation is free. All you need is a photo of your room.
Which photo works best?
One that shows wall, floor and some furnishing. A normal phone photo is completely sufficient for this.
Does the suggestion replace a colour sample?
No, it narrows down the choice. The final step is a real sample on your wall, because light and surface shift every tone once more.
