AI transparency
Transparency on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at re-box
We use modern AI technologies to give you a better shopping experience. In line with the EU Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (EU AI Act, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), we're transparent here about where AI is used in our shop.
1. AI-generated images
Some of the images in our online shop were created or edited with the help of AI image generators. These include, in particular:
- Ambience and room images (e.g. collection headers and mood images of painted rooms)
- Visualisations of our digital advisors (Anna, Clara, Johannes, Emma, Jonas and Nora – the people shown are AI-generated and don't really exist)
- occasionally edited product and application images
Colour representations are for illustration purposes. For a binding colour choice, we recommend our original colour samples or a consultation.
2. AI chat advice
Our digital advisor (“Anna” and her team: Clara, Johannes, Emma, Jonas, Nora) is an AI-powered chat assistant. You're not communicating with a human there, but with an AI system that has been trained and configured on our products and topics around painting and renovating.
The AI advisor can make mistakes. For binding information – for example on orders, complaints or legal matters – you can reach our human team at any time via the channels given in the legal notice and on the contact page.
3. AI-assisted texts and visualisations
Some texts in our shop (e.g. product descriptions, guide and FAQ content) as well as digital wall and lacquer visualisations (“digital test coat”) are created with AI support and then reviewed editorially by us.
4. AI-powered colour advice from a photo
On our Colour Finder page and on the product pages, you can voluntarily upload a photo of your room. An AI system analyses the image – light conditions, the colours of floor, furniture and textiles, the size of the wall surfaces – and suggests shades from our range accordingly, or shows you your wall in the chosen shade.
The suggestions are a recommendation, not a binding colour commitment: how a shade looks depends on the light on site. For your final choice, we recommend our original colour samples. Uploading is voluntary; how we handle the images and when they are deleted is set out in the privacy policy.
5. Labelling in the shop
AI advisory features are labelled as “AI advice” in the shop. This page is always accessible via the “AI transparency” link in the footer.
6. Questions?
If you have any questions about our use of AI in the shop, you can reach us via the contact details given in the legal notice.
