re-box's lacquer paints are what you use to change a surface without replacing it: 65 shades of furniture and lacquer paint, satin-finish and made for furniture, wood and indoor surfaces. Every tin is mixed only after you order — even the light ones. What follows applies equally to a chest of drawers, a door, a staircase handrail and a kitchen front.
Buy lacquer paint: 65 shades, satin finish, in 750 ml
The range covers 65 lacquer shades, plus the primer and the samples. Unlike wall paint, lacquer comes in just one size and one finish: re-box protect comes in a 750 ml tin, satin finish, in the shade you choose. So there is nothing to configure here except the colour itself.
Many of these names you may already know from the wall paint: almost every lacquer shade has a counterpart in the wall paint range. If you paint a door in the same shade as the wall, you don't get a break, but a continuous surface with two different finishes. If you're unsure about a shade, the Farbmusterbox 65 Stk helps: all shades as samples, to view in your own light, morning and evening.
What re-box protect withstands
The lacquer is made for furniture, wood and indoor surfaces and is resistant to mechanical stress and everyday dirt. That's the difference to wall paint: a wall is looked at, a cupboard front is touched, a handrail is gripped, a door frame is brushed by the vacuum cleaner.
This resistance also holds up against outside influences — sunlight on the windowsill, a damp hand on the handrail, a duster on the door frame. For a wall, a finish like this would be overkill; on a piece of furniture used every day, it's exactly where the effort pays off.
The colour worlds of the lacquer range
Six groups organise the 65 shades. The transitions are fluid — some shades could just as easily sit in the neighbouring group. As a guide for choosing, it's enough.
Creams, sand and linen
The light shades are the most understated and best-selling corner. Blanc Épuré No. 55 Lack is among the clearest light shades in the range, Lait Vanillé No. 56 Lack carries more warmth behind it. Seen side by side, you notice: white is never simply white. The whole group is found under Lackfarben Beige.
Blue from haze to midnight
Blue is the family with the widest range. Azure Bay No. 25 Lack stands for the clear, open side, Baltic Midnight No. 24 Lack for the other end, where blue almost tips into black. In between lie the grey-blue and petrol shades, which you'll find under Lackfarben Blau.
Green, olive and moss
Green lacquers are especially rewarding on wood, because both claim the same origin. Olive Drift No. 7 Lack pulls towards a muted grey, Hearthstone Moss No. 8 Lack towards a deeper tone. Both sit well with oak, brass and unbleached linen.
Yellow, ochre and red
The warm corner is the one for accents: a chest of drawers, the inside of a cupboard door, a shelf. Soleil Doux No. 45 Lack stays soft and mild, Ochre Flame No. 23 Lack leans clearly towards earth and pigment.
Brown and wood
Brown lacquers often look calmer on furniture than any wood stain. Bois Impérial No. 52 Lack and Brun Moka No. 53 Lack are two paths in the same direction: one with a reddish base character, the other with a dark, coffee-brown one.
Grey to black
At the dark end stands what gives window frames and shelves their graphic edge. Forge Grey No. 28 Lack is the bold grey for it, Gutter Black No. 33 Lack the black that doesn't read as a hole in the room, but as an edge.
Kitchen, door, staircase: where lacquer changes the most
Kitchen fronts
Nothing transforms a kitchen as affordably as new fronts in a different colour — and no surface gets touched as often. Take the doors off, unscrew the handles, lacquer the fronts lying flat: this way you get an even surface with no drips. The full breakdown, including effort and order of steps, is in Küche streichen: Anleitung, Kosten, Farbe.
Interior doors and frames
Doors are the most rewarding lacquer project there is, because they're visible in every room and yet hardly anyone touches them — except at the handle. You don't even need to take them off; how it works without that is described in Tür lackieren ohne Ausbauen.
Staircases and handrails
A staircase is the most heavily used wood surface in the house. Here, careful sanding and primer pay off most clearly, and here it's worth working in stages: first every other step, then the rest, so you can still get up and down.
First core, then protect
The build-up is the same for every lacquer project. First comes re-box core as a primer, then the coloured lacquer. This order isn't an extra step for perfectionists — it's the reason edges and handle areas hold up later on.
The surface must be clean, dry, load-bearing and free of any loose material. Old, glossy lacquer layers are sanded to a matte finish beforehand, and all dust is removed completely. On raw wood, the same applies in reverse order: sand first, then remove dust, then prime.
Silk-gloss on furniture, matte or silk-matte on the wall
Lacquer and wall paint are two different products at re-box, even when the shade is the same. The lacquer is always silk-gloss. For the wall, you can choose between re-box base one, matte, and re-box silk matte, silk-matte, hard-wearing and easy to clean. Both wall paints come in 2.5 l, 5 l and 10 l; the price depends on the quantity, not the finish.
For the wall area, these are the guide values for two coats:
- 2.5 l: approx. 8–10 m²
- 5 l: approx. 15–20 m²
- 10 l: approx. 30–40 m²
On very dark, strongly coloured or uneven surfaces, consumption can be higher. You'll find the matching shades for wall surfaces under Wandfarben — in many cases under the same name as the lacquer you've selected here.
Mixed to order: quantity, shipping, returns
Every can is mixed for you after you place your order. That's the reason for two things: there are no leftover batches and no warehouse stock in 65 colours — and individually mixed colours are excluded from withdrawal and exchange. If a renovation box contains mixed paint, this applies to the entire box.
Delivery within Germany is by parcel shipping, usually within 3–5 working days from receipt of payment. Processing begins as soon as payment has been received in full. Frequently asked questions about the lacquer colours
How many lacquer shades are there?
This category includes 65 lacquer shades. They're named following the same pattern as the wall paints, for example Azure Bay No. 25 or Soie Blush No. 59, and carry the addition „Lack" in the product name for the lacquer.
Is the lacquer also available matte?
No, re-box protect is only available in silk-gloss. Matte and silk-matte are available for the wall paints: base one is matte, silk matte is silk-matte. If you want a matte furniture surface, you won't find an equivalent in this range.
Do I really need a primer?
Yes, re-box core is part of the build-up and is applied before the lacquer. Especially on smooth, sealed or already lacquered surfaces, it determines whether the lacquer holds up in handle areas. On a prepared, sanded surface, it's applied quickly.
Does the lacquer shade match the wall paint of the same name exactly?
The same shade is available for both — as wall paint and as lacquer. They're two different materials, and the surface makes them appear different. Silk-gloss reflects more light than a matte wall, which is why the lacquer usually appears a touch deeper and richer. That small difference is exactly the effect many people look for in tone-on-tone projects.
Can I test a shade beforehand?
Yes, with the colour sample box, which contains all 65 shades as samples. Hold the sample up to the spot you want to lacquer and look at it in daylight and under lamp light. Since every can is mixed individually, testing before ordering is the safe way to go.
How fast is delivery?
Usually 3–5 working days from receipt of payment. Shipping is within Germany by parcel. Since every can is only mixed after purchase, processing begins once payment has been received in full.
